WARREN D. SMALLEY | Albuquerque, NM

Warren lives in Rio Rancho, NM and has lived in central New Mexico since 1990. He has been an active
member of the Friends since 1993 and has worked many work sessions; helping rebuild a passenger Gondola,
restoring several drop side gondolas, and disassembling the pile driver for transshipment to Colorado Springs
for restoration. He served as President and Secretary of the Rio Grande Railway Preservation Corp, the
operator of the C&TSRR, during 2000 through 2005. Warren’s background is in Insurance and Finance. He
retired in 2003 as CEO of a large regional insurance carrier and has consulted with the States of New Mexico
and West Virginia as well as Amerind, the Native American Insurance Company, in his capacity as President of
WDAVIDS, Executive Insurance Consulting. He formerly served on the board of the Albuquerque Rescue
Mission for the homeless, Kiwanis Club of Albuquerque, and is active in the local Garden Railroad Club. He grew
up in Kentucky and holds a B.A. degree from Centre College. He also holds the Chartered Property Casualty
(CPCU) designation from the American Institute for Property and Liability Underwriters.
