On Saturday, August 3, 2024, the Friends operated a mixed photo charter to replicate a DRGW “Chili Line” train. The train ran from Antonito to Osier and back. A crowd of approximately 50 passengers enjoyed great weather and plenty of photo runbys en route to Osier. Passengers were provided with box lunches at Osier for the return trip. The train, pulled by Locomotive 463, consisted of several boxcars, rider gondolas, a concession/restroom car, and Tourist Sleeper 470, which seemed to be a fan favorite! We thank the numerous Friends members who helped prepare the train and served as staff on the charter. We also extend our gratitude to the C&TS Railroad staff who made the day quite enjoyable. Discussions have begun about offering an after-the-season two-day charter in October 2025, pending approval from the railroad.
