TIM S. TENNANT, PRESIDENT & CEO | Rio Rancho, NM


President & Chief Executive Officer of the Friends. Tim has been in this position since January 2005. He has over thirty years of experience in the tourist railroad and historic railroad preservation community. During his tenure, he also spent two years as General Manager of the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad. Prior to joining the Friends, Tim served as General Manager and later, Director of Development, at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin. A Wisconsin native, Tim has many family ties to the railroad industry – his father, grandfather and an uncle were all locomotive engineers on the Chicago & NorthWestern Railroad. Tim’s wife, Judy, is also a twenty-year railroad veteran having retired from the Escanaba & Lake Superior Railroad. Tim holds a degree in Transportation/Distribution Management from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Green Bay. In addition to his passion for railroading, Tim’s other interests include traveling, model railroading, Great Lakes maritime history and, of course, being a fan of the Green Bay Packers.
